A tribute worthy of Marseille
The eve of theAssumption 2014 gathered many Marseillais on the Place Colonel Edon to admire an open-air architectural show in honour of the 800ᵉ anniversary of Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde. On the programme: a gigantic video mapping projected on the façade of the basilica and a sound and light animation for the delight of the Phocaeans.
The Good Mother watches over her city
Nicknamed the Good Mother, the Basilica of Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde is an emblematic figure of the city of Marseille. Thanks to its architectural beauty and its location overlooking the capital of the South, the basilica dating from the XIXᵉ century is the most visited monument in the Phocaean city.
